With many college students being sent home and state governments limiting how much you are allowed to leave home, how are you supposed to work out? Many college students used gyms located on campus and various other fitness activities on campus to get their daily dose of workout in. Now because of the Corona Virus gyms at home and social distancing orders have put a halt to student’s daily workout routines. Hit the Slopes For a Fun Workout!

For this week’s topic, we are going to talk about snowboarding and skiing and how it’s a good alternative workout. Let’s dive in a see how winter sports are a good alternate workout for college students. Why Students Should Go Stevenson students are lucky enough to have three ski slopes all located within an hour of the school. Liberty, Round Top, and Whitetail Ski Resort are all close to Stevenson and offer a wide variety of terrain for everyone to enjoy. Most students when they think of hitting the slopes though see a large problem with cost. The good thing about the ski resorts nearby though is they offer student days where renting snowboards/skis and getting a pass all cost $30. Almost every campus offers fitness programs for their students to part take in to help encourage them to stay physically fit. For this post, I am going to focus on Stevenson University specifically but look into your college's programs and see what they offer. Stevenson offers a wide variety of workout programs for students to take advantage of. Some of the workout programs Stevenson offers are Yoga, Zumba, and H.I.I.T. just to name a few. Go Hiking it's Good for You! For this week’s blog, we are going to talk about how to get active off-campus. It’s important to know that your weekly workout routine doesn’t have to consist of just staying on campus. Let’s talk about one of my favorite activities off-campus which is hiking. Stevenson University is luckily geographically placed in a perfect location to make hiking very accessible. From Patapsco State Park to Liberty Reservoir, Stevenson has plenty of hiking spots within a 30-minute radius. But why is hiking a good workout? Staying physically fit while in college helps improve a student’s physical and mental well-being while enduring long semesters.
