Quarantine Workout!

Well, we have come to a difficult time. Almost all Universities across the country have shut down for the remainder of the semester. With many college students being sent home and state governments limiting how much you are allowed to leave home, how are you supposed to work out?

Many college students used gyms located on campus and various other fitness activities on campus to get their daily dose of workout in. Now because of the Corona Virus gyms at home and social distancing orders have put a halt to student’s daily workout routines. So, while you’re in quarantine how can you keep up with your daily dose of working out?

How to Get a Workout In

Since most of the country is under quarantine have been able to get out more and enjoy the outdoors. This is the first good thing about being able to work out while under quarantine. There are many things you can do to stay active while under quarantine, let’s take a look at a few.

The first thing you can do is simple. Go for a bike ride, walk, or run. All these options are easy to do and are great sources of workout. Biking and running will help you burn the most calories and are very enjoyable to do.

What else can you do if you really don’t want to go outside and risk catching the virus? Stay inside a bust out the Wii that’s been sitting in the closet. The Wii is a fun way to get a workout and have fun while playing it with your whole family. You might not burn a lot of calories while doing it, but you will definitely be active and have fun.

The last thing you could do if you are trying to get a great lifting workout in try finding heavy things around your house that mimic gym supplies and use those to workout. My favorite is taking my heavy college textbooks putting them in bags and hanging them off the sides of an old lacrosse stick to use as weights.

No matter what you decide to do it’s important to get creative in this time of quarantine and find an activity that suits you best. My personal favorite is going on long bike rides because it’s fun to explore on a bike and you get a great workout in. It’s important to stay active while we face this time.

Stay happy, healthy, and safe!
