Summer Fun!

This week with summer fast approaching we will discuss fun fitness activities that you can do while off campus. Summer is a great time to keep your physical fitness up and to have fun with it. Let’s take a look at some of the activities one can participate in.
When you think of summer many people think of heat and humidity. Which makes people less motivated to go and be fit. Although one may think this, I have a few fitness ideas you may want to try out over the summer.
Activities To Try
The first activity we are going to talk about is paddle boarding. What is a paddle-board? Think of a long wide surfboard. On the paddle-board you can stand, kneel, or sit and you have a single paddle and can row anywhere you would like.
The reason paddle boarding is a great workout is because it helps strengthen your balance and core strength as you paddle around. It also gives you a great arm workout. Paddle boarding is super fun to because if you want to take a break you can just hop off the board and take a swim.
The next fun activity we are going to talk about is kayaking. Kayaking offers a great workout for your arms and core as you paddle up and down the waterways. Kayaking is fun and something you can enjoy on the water by yourself or with friends.
The last activity we are going to discuss is wakeboarding. Wakeboarding is a sport where you are pulled behind a boat and you hold onto a handle. You have a board under your feet that you are attached.
Wakeboarding is a great fully body workout much like snowboarding and is a fun activity to do out in the summer heat. It’s also a great activity to do with friends of all skill levels because everyone can try it and learn it very easy.
My Opinion
My favorite fitness activity to do over the summer is wakeboarding. I love the feeling it gives you much like snowboarding and by the end of the day you can tell your body went through a workout.
All the activities above are accessible to everyone in Maryland easily. All the activities are able to be done through rentals. I highly recommended checking them out!
